“Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)” is one of the best-known critiques of schooling and authoritarian approaches to education. The song does not reject knowledge or learning. Its target is an educational system that treats pupils as indistinguishable parts of a uniform mass, valuing discipline and conformity over creativity and autonomy. The image of each child as “just another brick in the wall” vividly captures the transformation of the individual into a component of a larger structure that leaves little room for difference.
